Following confirmation of the Prime Minister’s program, the administration has intensified security and arrangements at the ghats.
LG visited the ghat
Just two days ago, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, along with Minister Kapil Mishra, visited Vasudev Ghat to review the preparations. According to officials, the Delhi Police, National Security Guard, and other agencies have been alerted to ensure the Prime Minister’s security. Special barricades, surveillance cameras, and security personnel are being deployed in the ghat area to ensure that the movement of devotees is not hampered. Priority will be given to the convenience of devotees during the Prime Minister’s presence. According to officials, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has clearly instructed that the Prime Minister’s program should not cause any inconvenience to the general public attending the puja. To this end, several changes are being made to traffic and entry arrangements.
Delhi Traffic Police stated that temporary traffic controls will be implemented on the Ring Road around Vasudev Ghat. Parking around the ghat will be restricted, and instructions have been issued to inform devotees about alternative routes in advance. Security agencies have also postponed the Yamuna Aarti program scheduled for October 27th, considering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security. Along with security, special attention is also being paid to cleanliness and decoration in the Vasudev Ghat area.
Vasudev Ghat has become one of the major Chhath Puja sites in recent years. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) maintains this ghat and is now installing additional facilities such as temporary changing rooms, drinking water facilities, and medical camps.
The administration claims that preparations for the ghats are in the final stages and all necessary arrangements have been made for the convenience of devotees. This year, Prime Minister Modi’s presence on the occasion of Chhath Puja has further increased the festive spirit in Delhi.
