New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday included various topics in his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat. In the 126th episode of Mann Ki Baat, he remembered Chhath Mahaparva. Along with this, he remembered Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Swar Kokila Lata Mangeshkar. Today is also his birth anniversary. PM Modi also remembered his evergreen songs.
“In the 126th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “”Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh is an inspiration for everyone, especially for the youth.” Before being hanged, he wrote a letter to the British requesting that he be treated like a prisoner of war and that he and his comrades be shot. He was very sensitive to people’s suffering.
“PM Modi further said, “”Today is also the birth anniversary of Lata Mangeshkar ji.” His songs contain everything that shakes human emotions. His patriotic songs inspired people. He also had a deep connection with Indian culture. I pay my heartfelt tribute to Lata Didi. My relationship of affection with Lata Didi has always been unbreakable. She used to send me rakhi every year. I told him that I really like the song ‘Jyoti Kalash Chalke’ sung by him and composed by Sudhir Phadke ji.
“Prime Minister Modi said, “”Two brave officers of the Indian Navy have displayed courage and determination during the Navika Sagar Parikrama.” I want to introduce the listeners of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ to these two brave officers. One is Lieutenant Commander Dilna and the other is Lieutenant Commander Rupa.
“He said, “”I am very happy to tell you that the Government of India is also engaged in a major effort related to Chhath Puja.” The Government of India is trying to include Chhath Mahaparva in the intangible cultural heritage list of UNESCO. When Chhath Puja joins the UNESCO list, people in every corner of the world will be able to experience its grandeur and divinity.
Our festivals keep the culture of India alive. Chhath Puja is a sacred festival that comes after Diwali. This festival dedicated to the sun god is very special. In this, we worship the setting sun and worship it. Chhath is not only celebrated in different parts of the country, but its grandeur is also seen all over the world. Today it is becoming a global festival.
Due to similar efforts of the government, Durga Puja in Kolkata also became part of this list of UNESCO. If we give such global recognition to our cultural events, the world will also know about them, understand them and come forward to participate in them.
Along with this, he also remembered the Mithila painting of Madhubani district of Bihar. He said that Sweety Kumari has also started Sankalp Creations. He has made Mithila painting a means of livelihood for women. Today, more than 500 rural women are associated with them and are on the path to self-reliance. All these success stories teach us that countless sources of income are hidden in our traditions.
PM Modi also mentioned Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. He said that Gandhiji always emphasized on Swadeshi but unfortunately after independence, the attraction of Khadi decreased, but in the last 11 years, the attraction of the people of the country towards Khadi has increased significantly. PM Modi urged people to buy khadi products.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the Dussehra festival. He said that the day of Vijayadashmi marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. This journey of a century is as amazing, unprecedented and inspiring as it is. 100 years ago, when the RSS was founded, the country had been in chains of slavery for centuries.
Along with this, he also mentioned the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki on October 7. He said that it was actually Maharishi Valmiki who made us widely acquainted with the incarnation stories of Lord Rama.
