New Delhi: The new GST rates will come into effect from 12 midnight on Sunday. Benefits will begin to accrue from September 22nd, the first day of Navratri. The reduction in GST will reduce the prices of many products. In this regard, the Railways has reduced the price of its bottled drinking water brand, Rail Neer, by one rupee. The revised prices will be effective from September 22nd.
An order issued by the Railway Board states that all Rail Neer bottles have been reduced by one rupee. The circular, addressed to all zonal railways and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), states, “The maximum retail price of bottled drinking water ‘Rail Neer’ has been revised.”
The price of a one-liter bottle of Rail Neer has been reduced from Rs. 15 to Rs. 14, and the price of a 500 ml bottle has been reduced from Rs. 10 to Rs. 9. According to the order, the maximum retail price of drinking water bottles of IRCTC/Railway-listed brands sold on railway premises and trains will also be revised. The price of a one-liter bottle has been reduced from โน15 to โน14, and the price of a 500 ml bottle has been reduced from โน10 to โน9.
What to do if the vendor or shopkeeper charges more?
First, ask the vendor the reason for the higher price. If you still don’t receive a satisfactory response, you can lodge a complaint through the railway’s customer service channels.
