The Congress accused the government and said that the Center has forcibly removed him from the post. At the same time, Jagdeep Dhankhar was not seen anywhere after resigning. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan was administered the oath of office by President Draupadi Murmu in the presence of Union ministers, senior government officials and many dignitaries. NDA candidate Radhakrishnan won the Vice Presidential election by securing 452 votes in the fiercely contested elections held on September 9, while opposition candidate B Sudarshan Reddy got 300 votes.
Radhakrishnan has been a two-time BJP MP from Coimbatore and has also served as the BJP Tamil Nadu chief. His political life marks a decades-long career, which started from the Jan Sangh and transitioned to the BJP. It is worth noting that Vice President Radhakrishnan was also congratulated by his predecessor Jagdeep Dhankhar on his decisive victory. In a letter to Radhakrishnan, Dhankhar said that your promotion to this prestigious post reflects the trust and confidence of the representatives of our nation.
