New Delhi: Union Home Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah held an important meeting with the Bihar BJP core committee in Delhi today. According to sources, the main objective of this meeting was to finalize the preparations for the Bihar assembly elections and discuss the strategy.
The term of the Bihar Legislative Assembly ends on November 22, 2025, and it is believed that the dates can be announced by the Election Commission in September-October.
According to sources, the election strategy and seat sharing were discussed in the party. In the meeting, there was an in-depth discussion on the strategy for the Bihar assembly elections. The main issue in the Bihar BJP core group meeting was as follows:
Shah and Nadda discussed with the leaders of the core group on the seats to be given to NDA constituents, including Janata Dal United (JDU), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. Also, according to party sources, the position of BJP and its allies was assessed on 243 assembly seats on the basis of a survey conducted by the party.
If party sources are to be believed, then the main issues of the election, issues related to anti-incumbency and the seats identified as weak and strong areas on the basis of the survey report and the cancellation of tickets of some MLAs were considered.
Apart from this, the issue of alleged abusive words against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother during the recent India Alliance’s ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ was also discussed. According to sources, BJP is planning to use this issue as an election strategy.
In response to this, BJP Mahila Morcha has announced a Bihar bandh for five hours (from 7 am to 12 noon) on September 4. Amit Shah advised Bihar BJP leaders to increase their activism at the ground level and reduce their speeches. According to sources, the central leadership is unhappy with Bihar BJP’s activism only in the media and its inactivity on the ground.
The leaders were instructed to strengthen the organization at the booth level and work on a strategy to counter the narrative of the opposition. Apart from this, the meeting also emphasized on strengthening the unity of NDA and the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
According to sources regarding the upcoming plans, Amit Shah may visit Bihar soon, which may include many programs and public meetings. Apart from this, there is also talk of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Purnia on September 15, where he will inaugurate some projects.
This meeting is considered an important step towards strengthening the strategy of BJP and NDA for the Bihar assembly elections. The goal of the BJP is to ensure the victory of NDA in Bihar by countering the narrative of the opposition, especially RJD and Congress.
The results of this meeting can give a new direction to the politics of Bihar. Speaking on that issue, a party leader from Bihar said that if there is an election, then such meetings will keep happening. He said that, as far as the All India Alliance is concerned, no matter how much effort it puts in, only a double engine government will come there. However, most of the leaders were seen avoiding speaking on the meeting.
Apart from Home Minister Amit Shah, many senior leaders including BJP National President JP Nadda, Bihar BJP State President Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, both Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde, co-in-charge Deepak Prakash, Organization General Secretary Bhikhubhai Dalsaniya and Regional Organization General Secretary Nagendra Nath were present in the core group meeting of Bihar BJP leaders.
