New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday took the salute at the grand parade held at the new police lines in Kingsway Camp on the occasion of the 79th Foundation Day of the Delhi Police. During the ceremony, he praised the bravery and dedication of the force’s personnel and clarified that with changing times, the Delhi Police is now becoming an example to the world not only in security but also in technology and modern policing.
Fear among criminals and trust among the public is the true success
During his address at the ceremony, the Home Minister said that protecting the country’s capital is no ordinary task. Reminding the police force of the core mantra of “Peace, Service, and Justice,” he said that the police’s job is not just to maintain law and order, but also to deliver justice to the last person in society and instill confidence in citizens who feel insecure. He stressed that the Delhi Police should develop a system that instills fear of the law in criminals and makes ordinary citizens consider the police their most trusted friend. Direct Attack on Naxalism and Terrorism
Home Minister Amit Shah made a major announcement, highlighting the central government’s achievements on the national security front. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has achieved unprecedented success in the field of internal security. Emphasis on Technology and Forensic Investigation
Referring to modern challenges, Home Minister Amit Shah said that in the digital age, criminals have also become high-tech. Consequently, the Delhi Police will have to further expand its technological capabilities to combat cybercrimes. He praised the forensic vans and modern investigation systems, saying that the increased use of forensic evidence in investigations will improve the conviction rate in courts.
Salute to the Martyrs and Honor with Medals
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Home Minister paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty by laying a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial. After the parade, he awarded police officers and personnel with the President’s Police Medal and other medals for outstanding service, bravery, and commendable work. He also assured the expansion of housing schemes and healthcare facilities for the welfare of police families.
