Pauri Garhwal: A new initiative ‘Cluster Vidyalaya’ scheme has been started with the aim of improving the quality of education in the district. Under this scheme, proper use of resources will be ensured by integrating remote and small schools. Under the scheme, upper primary and secondary schools will be linked in the form of groups (clusters). Where facilities like teachers, library, educational material, computer lab and sports material will be used together.
Kendra Vidyalaya will be built in cluster model: A ‘Kendra Vidyalaya’ has been determined in each cluster, which will play the role of inspiration center for the students of other nearby schools. Travel expenses will also be arranged for the students to come and go to the Kendra Vidyalaya, so that students from rural and remote areas can easily get quality education.
54 schools selected in Pauri Garhwal: This new initiative is expected to bring about comprehensive improvement in the quality of education along with proper distribution of educational resources in the district. Keeping in view the improvement in the quality of education and the use of resources, the ‘Cluster School’ scheme is being effectively implemented in Pauri. After reviewing the 79 schools selected earlier under this scheme, it has been decided to run 54 schools in cluster form.
The schools of these blocks will run on cluster model: This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Additional Director, Secondary Education, Garhwal Division Pauri, in which all the Block Education Officers of Pauri were present. In the first phase of the scheme, one school each from 14 development blocks and two schools from Dugdda development block are being developed as cluster schools.
This is the objective: Chief Education Officer Nagendra Bartwal said that regular workshops will be organized for teachers, through which they will be trained in new teaching methods. Science exhibitions, sports competitions and cultural programs will be organized for the students at the cluster level, so that their all-round development can be ensured.
These facilities will be available in cluster schools: Students also welcomed this scheme and said that after their school is selected as a cluster, they will get facilities like high-tech classrooms, laboratories, playgrounds. Also, they will get a chance to acquire new knowledge from new subject expert teachers, which will greatly improve their educational quality.
