Dehradun: After the completion of the process of Uttarakhand three-tier Panchayat elections, the counting of votes has also been done. It has been decided which candidates won and who lost. Now the time for the election of District Panchayat President and Block Pramukhs is near. Under the three-tier Panchayat elections, voting was held in two phases on 24 and 28 July for the posts of Member Gram Panchayat, Pradhan Gram Panchayat, Member Kshetra Panchayat and Member District Panchayat.
42 objections against District Panchayat President reservation: The election results were released along with the counting of votes on 31 July. In such a situation, the Panchayati Raj Department had also released the provisional list regarding the District Panchayat reservation. Under which objections were sought till 6:00 pm on August 4. A total of 42 objections have been filed against the District Panchayat President reservation.
Final list of Zila Panchayat Adhyaksh reservation will be released on Wednesday: Before the final list of reservation for Zila Panchayat Adhyaksh posts was released in the remaining 12 districts of the state except Haridwar district, a provisional reservation list was released on August 1. Objections were also sought from the people. Under this, a total of 42 objections have been registered in all the districts between August 2 and August 4. In such a situation, all these objections are being resolved today. According to the program released by the Panchayati Raj Department, all the objections will be resolved on August 5. After this, the final list of reservation of Zila Panchayat Adhyaksh will be released on Wednesday, August 6.
Maximum 15 objections in Dehradun district: A committee has been formed by the government to resolve the objections related to the reservation of Zila Panchayat Adhyaksh. This committee is resolving the 42 objections received today. A total of 42 objections have been received from 9 districts of the state against the Zila Panchayat Adhyaksh reservation. Not a single objection has been received against the reservation from Nainital, Bageshwar and Almora districts. Maximum 15 objections have been received in Dehradun district and 9 objections in Pauri district.
Know which reservation in which districts: In the provisional reservation released by Panchayati Raj Department on August 1, the post of president in Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Almora, Rudraprayag and Tehri Garhwal has been reserved for general women. Bageshwar District Panchayat President post has been reserved for Scheduled Caste women. Pithoragarh has been reserved for Scheduled Caste, Udham Singh Nagar for OBC. Apart from this, the post of president in Uttarkashi, Nainital, Chamoli and Champawat has been unreserved.
