The Uttarakhand government has issued appointment orders for 18 new posts of Drug Inspector Grade-2 in the state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat congratulated all the newly appointed drug inspectors and appealed to work with full devotion and honesty in public interest.
Health Secretary and Head of Food Safety and Drug Administration, Uttarakhand, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar informed that these appointments have been made through the Department of Medical Health and Medical Education and Public Service Commission, Uttarakhand. The newly appointed officers have been posted on a probation period of two years and all have been instructed to immediately take charge at their place of posting.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that this step has been taken by the government to strengthen the drug administration in the state and ensure access to quality medicines to the public. These appointments will strengthen the monitoring of the state’s pharmaceutical supply chain and make the drug control system more effective.

Fake drug mafia will be curbed, responsibility of drug inspectors increased
Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar further said that with the deployment of new drug inspectors, strict action can be taken against fake and illegal drug mafia in Uttarakhand. The main objective of the government is to prevent illegal and poor quality drugs in the state. He said that strict instructions have been given to the drug inspectors to regularly check the drug sellers and companies in their areas and take immediate action on any irregularities.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that drug inspectors will be connected to modern technologies and digital monitoring systems, so that the quality of all the medicines available in the market can be closely monitored. The government is fully committed to curb the sale of illegally sold antibiotics, painkillers and other controlled drugs.
