New Delhi: Due to the closure of banks, many transactions and other banking work of the people stop. Due to which they have to face problems. This is the reason why people try to get all their work done before the bank holiday. Banks will remain closed in some cities of the country this week as well. According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks in these cities will remain closed due to a regional festival.
RBI has declared only one bank holiday this week due to a regional festival. According to the RBI bank holiday list, all private and public banks in Jammu-Srinagar will remain closed on Thursday, September 18, to commemorate the Unitarian Anniversary Day. RBI has also made it mandatory that banks will remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, while Sunday will be a holiday for all public and private banks.
Bank Holidays in September
September 18 – All private and public banks in Jammu and Srinagar will remain closed on Unitarian Anniversary Day to commemorate the founding of the Unitarian Church.
September 22 – All banks will remain closed in Jaipur as the city will celebrate Navratri Sthapan.
September 23 – All public and private banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar to mark the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh, the last ruler of Jammu and Kashmir.
September 29 – Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Kolkata and Guwahati to mark Mahasaptami, the seventh day of Durga Puja festival celebrated in the Hindu month of Ashwin.
September 30 – Banks will remain closed in many cities including Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Imphal, Jaipur, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi on account of Durga Puja and Durga Ashtami, the eighth day of Navratri.
Banks may remain closed on different days in different states due to regional and local festivals. Customers can check their holiday list with their local bank branch in advance to avoid any inconvenience. Those who are planning any important work related to banking transactions or other such services can plan their holidays after checking the list of bank holidays.
