Appointment letters will be distributed to 1,347 Assistant Teachers (LT) selected through the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission on October 14th. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will hand over the appointment letters to all selected teachers at a ceremony held in the auditorium of the Government Doon Medical College in Patel Nagar. The selected teachers will be assigned their initial postings to schools in remote areas of the state, addressing the teacher shortage in inaccessible areas and ensuring quality education for students. State School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat stated that following the High Court’s order regarding the Assistant Teacher (LT) recruitment, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission has provided the list of selected candidates to the Secondary Education Department. Consequently, appointment letters will be distributed to the 1,347 teachers selected by the Commission on October 14th. The department has completed all preparations for this. Dr. Rawat stated that the selected candidates will be presented with their appointment letters by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at a ceremony organized by the department in the auditorium of the Government Doon Medical College in Patel Nagar. He informed that, based on the list provided by the Commission, teachers have been selected for 681 posts in the general and women’s streams in the Garhwal Division. This includes 112 teachers in Hindi, 98 in English, 9 in Sanskrit, 66 in Mathematics, 109 each in Science and General, 103 in Arts, 59 in Physical Education, 3 in Home Science, 11 in Commerce, and 2 in Music. Similarly, in the Kumaon Division, teachers have been selected for 671 posts in the general and women’s streams. This includes 90 teachers in Hindi, 73 in English, 12 in Sanskrit, 89 in Mathematics, 88 in Science, 128 in General, 127 in Arts, 45 in Physical Education, 8 in Home Science, 6 in Music, 1 in Urdu, and 4 in Commerce. The departmental minister informed that some candidates had filed a petition in the High Court regarding the recruitment results announced by the Commission. The court has resolved all the cases and passed orders granting appointments to 1,347 posts, while directing that the remaining posts be reserved. Dr. Rawat stated that all these selected teachers will be initially posted to schools in remote and inaccessible areas of the state to address the teacher shortage and ensure quality education. Dr. Rawat stated that the state government’s goal is to provide subject-specific teachers to every school in the state. The department is continuously working to fill vacant teaching positions. He stated that 2,100 assistant teachers will soon be appointed in the Primary Education Department and over 800 lecturer positions will be filled in the Secondary Education Department
