For Kumbh 2027, the state has requested the early completion of projects by 10 central ministries, including roads, railways, and telecommunications. Completion of these projects will provide greater convenience to pilgrims and the government during the Kumbh.
The Ministry of Road Transport was requested to connect Haridwar Bypass Phase 1 with NH 334 Bahadrabad and NH 34 Kangri, expedite the completion of the remaining work on the Haridwar-Najibabad NH 34, and connect Nepali Farm to Najibabad Road under Haridwar Bypass Phase 2. Similarly, the Ministry of Railways was requested to complete a total of 12 projects. These include special trains, expansion of railway stations, construction of holding areas, and the crucial doubling of the Dehradun-Haridwar railway line.
The Ministry of Jal Shakti has been requested for drinking water and sanitation.
The Ministry of Telecommunications has been requested to strengthen telecommunications infrastructure in the Mela area and surrounding areas; the Ministry of Tourism has been requested to promote tourism at key points related to Haridwar and the state; the Ministry of Culture has been requested to organize global digital campaigns, cultural performances, and water laser shows; the Ministry of Information has been requested to promote government schemes; the Ministry of Home Affairs has been requested to handle security, disaster management, and law and order; the Ministry of External Affairs has been requested to integrate information and communication technology (ICT) into the Kumbh Mela area; the Ministry of Information and Communications has been requested to utilize technology for computers, internet, mobile phones, and software; and the Ministry of Jal Shakti has been requested to handle drinking water and sanitation.
13,440 community toilets, 8,000 staff will be hired for cleaning.
Over 13,440 community toilets, over 4,000 urinal toilets, and over 3,000 mobile toilets will be constructed for the convenience of pilgrims in the Kumbh Mela area. Haridwar will require 8,000 staff for sanitation work. Secretary Kumbh Nitesh Jha said that various ministries of the Central Government will provide support in Kumbh
